۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 They will then turn towards each other (and start wrangling). 27 Some [of them] will say: "Behold, you were wont to approach us [deceptively] from the right!" 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 Aye! he hath come with the truth, and he confesseth to the sent ones. 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 (They will live) in the bountiful gardens, 43 sitting face to face upon couches, 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 so delicate as the hidden peel under an egg's shell. 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 Then he will say [to his blessed companions], "Are we not going to die, 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 Surely it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell; 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 See then the end of those who were warned, 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74
