The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the shining star -- 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
