Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? 24 When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 They said: Even so saith thy Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?" 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 That we may send down upon them stone of clay, 33 Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). 34 So We brought out from therein the believers. 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. 37 And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, 38 But Pharaoh turned away, showing arrogance on account of his power, and said (about Moses): “He is either a sorcerer or a madman.” 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 Which turned everything it touched to ashes. 42 And also in Thamood, when it was said to them, 'Take your enjoyment for a while!' 43 But they rebelled against the command of their Lord. So the thunderbolt overtook them while they looked on: 44 and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. 45 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 46
