The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 so that We might bring forth thereby grain, and herbs, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 a fitting requital, 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30
