But as for anyone who chooses to remain blind to the remembrance of the Most Gracious, to him We assign an [enduring] evil impulse, to become his other self: 36 and these satans hinder them from the Right Path, while he still reckons himself to be rightly-guided. 37 till, when he comes to Us, he says, 'Would there had been between me and thee the distance of the two Easts!' An evil comrade! 38 And it profiteth you not this day, because ye did wrong, that ye will be sharers in the doom. 39 (Muhammad), can you make the deaf hear or guide the blind or the one who is clearly in error? 40 And whether [or not] We take you away [in death], indeed, We will take retribution upon them. 41 Or show you some of what We have promised them. They are certainly well within Our power. 42 So hold fast to what has been revealed to you. You are truly on the right path. 43 The Quran is a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be questioned about it. 44 Inquire of apostles We had sent before you if We appointed gods to be worshipped other than Ar-Rahman. 45
