Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
