The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when souls are united, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
