The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls are paired 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 Then every soul will know what it had prepared for itself. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills - the Lord of the Creation. 29
