The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Ra. THESE ARE MESSAGES of revelation - of a discourse clear in itself and clearly showing the truth. 1 Perhaps (often) will those who disbelieve wish that they were Muslims [those who have submitted themselves to Allah's Will in Islam Islamic Monotheism, this will be on the Day of Resurrection when they will see the disbelievers going to Hell and the Muslims going to Paradise]. 2 Leave them to feast and revel, beguiled by hope; they will come to know soon. 3 And every dwelling that We destroyed, had a known decree for it. 4 No nation can outstrip its term, nor do they put it back. 5 They say, "You to whom the Reminder [the Quran] has been sent down, you are surely possessed. 6 Why do you not bring down angels upon us if you are indeed truthful?" 7 We send not the angels down except with the truth (i.e. for torment, etc.), and in that case, they (the disbelievers) would have no respite! 8 then they would not be respited. It is We who have sent down the Remembrance, and We watch over it. 9 We sent messengers before you to the previous peoples, 10 And never came there unto them a messenger but they did mock him. 11 Thus do We make it to enter into the hearts of the guilty; 12 they believe not in it, though the wont of the ancients is already gone. 13 Even if We open a door in the heavens and they ascend through it in broad daylight, 14 They would certainly say: Only our eyes have been covered over, rather we are an enchanted people. 15
