Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 And then drew lots and was of those rejected; 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had he not glorified God, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 Except the slaves of Allah, whom He choses (for His Mercy i.e. true believers of Islamic Monotheism who do not attribute false things unto Allah). 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 And surely they used to say: 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 We would be single-minded slaves of Allah. 169 But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know! 170 And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn) 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And see them thou; they themselves shall presently see. 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 And watch; they will come to know soon. 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
