Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ (Muhammad), say, "It has been revealed to me that a party of jinn has listened (to the recitation) of the Quran and has told (their people), "We heard an amazing reading 1 Which guides to the right path; and we have come to believe in it, and will not associate any one with our Lord. 2 He -- exalted be our Lord's majesty! has not taken to Himself either consort or a son. 3 The ignorant fool among us has spoken outrageously against Allah, 4 and that [we were mistaken when] we thought that neither man nor [any of] the invisible forces would ever tell a lie about God. 5 Yet [it has always happened] that certain kinds of humans would seek refuge with certain kinds of [such] invisible forces: but these only increased their confusion 6 and they thought, even as you also thought, that God would never raise up anyone. 7 (The jinn continued saying): "We made our way towards heaven, but we found it filled with stern guards and a flame. 8 And we were wont to sit on seats therein to listen; but whosoever listeneth now findeth for him a dartin meteor in wait. 9 'And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their Lord (really) intends to guide them to right conduct. 10 ‘And among us some are virtuous and some are the other type; we are split into several branches.’ 11 and that “we thought that we will neither be able to frustrate Allah on earth, nor frustrate Him by flight”; 12 Now that we have listened to the guidance, we believe in it. Whoever believes in his Lord does not need to fear loss or oppression. 13 Some of us are obedient while others are wrongdoers; it is the obedient who have found the right path, 14 but as for those who abandon themselves to wrongdoing - they are indeed but fuel for [the fires of] hell!'" 15 (Say): "If they keep to the right path We shall give them water in abundance to drink 16 as a trial for them. God will make those who disregard the guidance from their Lord suffer increasing torment. 17 Mosques belong to Allah, so do not call to anyone else, other than Allah. 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
