The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 who observe Zakah; 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 save from their wives and what their right hands own then being not blameworthy 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 Such are the inheritors 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 then We made this drop into a clot, then We made the clot into a lump, then We made the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creation. Thus Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of all those that create. 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 And on them, and on ships you are carried. 22
