The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 And the Book written 2 In a Scroll unfolded; 3 And the House frequented, 4 and the roof uplifted 5 and the sea that is full 6 VERILY, [O man,] the suffering decreed by thy Sustainer [for the sinners] will indeed come to pass: 7 There is none that can ward it off. 8 On the Day whereon the heaven will shake with an awful shaking. 9 And the mountains will move away with an awful movement. 10 Then woe that Day to those that treat (Truth) as Falsehood;- 11 Who play in talk of grave matters; 12 That Day shall they be thrust down to the Fire of Hell, irresistibly. 13 This is the fire which you used to deny. 14 Was it, then, a delusion or is it that you failed to see [its truth]? 15 Go now and burn in it. It is all the same whether you bear it patiently or do not bear it with patience. You are only being recompensed for your deeds.” 16 Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and Delight. 17 Rejoicing because of what their Lord gave them, and their Lord saved them from the punishment of the burning fire. 18 They will be told, "Eat and drink to your heart's delight for what you have done". 19 They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Houris (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes. 20 And those who believe and whose progeny follow them in belief. We shall cause their progeny to join them, and We shall not diminish unto them aught of their own work. Every man is for that which he hath earned a pledge. 21 We shall provide them in abundance with all kinds of fruit and meat, whatever they may desire. 22 They shall pass therein from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin. 23 ۞ And young attendants like pearls within their shells, will go round. 24 They will go to one another asking each other questions: 25 Saying: Lo! of old, when we were with our families, we were ever anxious; 26 But God has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of scorching wind. 27 We used to pray to Him erstwhile; He is the just and merciful. 28
