۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 but [since it will be too late,] they will turn upon one another, demanding of each other [to relieve them of the burden of their past sins]. 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 Fruits. And they will be honoured 42 In Gardens of peace. 43 On couches facing one another; 44 a goblet from a spring shall be passed round to them 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 so delicate as the hidden peel under an egg's shell. 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 Then he looks, and sees him in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 “So are we never to die?” (The people of Paradise will ask the angels, with delight, after the announcement of everlasting life.) 58 Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised? 59 Indeed, this is the mighty victory, 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 then on top of it they have a brew of boiling water, 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 They found their father going astray 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 Before them erred most of the ancients, 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned, 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
