The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 arise, and warn! 2 And your Lord (Allah) magnify! 3 and purify your clothing, 4 And stay away from idols. 5 And do not through giving seek thyself to gain, 6 And for the sake of your Lord, patiently endure. 7 For when the Trump is sounded 8 Surely that day will be a day of anguish, 9 Far from easy for the disbelievers. 10 Leave him to Me whom I created alone, 11 and to whom I have granted resources in abundance, 12 and sons that stand in witness. 13 and for whom I have smoothed the way (to power and riches), 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give yet more! 15 By no means! For to Our Signs he has been refractory! 16 I shall force him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 Verily, he thought and plotted; 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! 20 He then dared to lift his gaze. 21 and then he frowns and glares, 22 and he turned his back and behaved arrogantly 23 He said, 'This is naught but a trumped-up sorcery; 24 This is naught but the word of a mortal. 25 I shall surely roast him in Sakar; 26 And what do you know what Hell is? 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 Scorching the skin. 29 Over it are nineteen (angels guarding). 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
