The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
