HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the unseen, thus, he sees (all things)? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
