Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 'and do Thou ease for me my task. 26 and my tongue fluent 27 (That) they may understand my word; 28 And give to me an aider from my family: 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 By him confirm my strength 31 And associate him in my affair. 32 That we may sing Your praises much, 33 "And remember You much, 34 Verily, You have always watched over us." 35 He said: You are indeed granted your petition, O Musa 36 It is the second time that We have bestowed upon you Our favor. 37 "Behold! We sent to thy mother, by inspiration, the message: 38 "'Throw (the child) into the chest, and throw (the chest) into the river: the river will cast him up on the bank, and he will be taken up by one who is an enemy to Me and an enemy to him': But I cast (the garment of) love over thee from Me: and (this) in order that thou mayest be reared under Mine eye. 39 Your sister went to them and said, "May I show you someone who will nurse this child?" We returned you to your mother to make her rejoice and forget her grief. You slew a man and We saved you from trouble. We tried you through various trials. Then you stayed some years with the people of Midian (Shu'ayb and his family) and after that you came back to Egypt as was ordained. 40 I have chosen you for My service. 41 "Go with your brother. Take My miracles and do not be reluctant in preaching My message. 42 go forth, both of you, unto Pharaoh: for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of equity! 43 Speak to him gently. He may possibly take heed or may come to have fear." 44 The two [brothers] said: "O our Sustainer! Verily, we fear lest he act hastily with regard to us, or lest he [continue to] transgress all bounds of equity." 45 The Lord replied them, "Do not be afraid; I Am with you all the time, listening and seeing." 46 So go you both to him and say: Surely we are two apostles of your Lord; therefore send the children of Israel with us and do not torment them! Indeed we have brought to you a communication from your Lord, and peace is on him who follows the guidance; 47 'Truly, it has been revealed to us that the torment will be for him who denies [believes not in the Oneness of Allah, and in His Messengers, etc.], and turns away.'(from the truth and obedience of Allah)" 48 Pharaoh said, 'Who is your Lord, Moses?' 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright. 50 Pharaoh asked, "What about the previous generations?" 51 He said, “Their knowledge is with my Lord, (recorded) in a Book; my Lord neither strays nor forgets.” 52 It is He who made the earth a bed for you, and traced for you paths upon it, and sends down water from the sky, and brings out through it every kind of vegetation 53 Do you eat, and pasture your cattle! Surely in that are signs for men possessing reason. 54
