The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He hath created man. 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
