The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 And the promised day, 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 destroyed were the people of the trench, 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 when they were seated around it 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- 8 Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things. 9 Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire. 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 Surely thy Lord's assault is terrible. 12 Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 Of Firon and Samood? 18 Nay, but the unbelievers still cry lies, 19 Allah encompasses them all from behind. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
