The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 span class="col">Their brother Noah asked them, "Why do you not fear God? 106 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 107 so fear Allah and obey me. 108 I seek of you no reward for this: my reward is with none except the Lord of the Universe. 109 So guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me. 110 ۞ They said, 'Shall we believe thee, whom the vilest follow?' 111 (Noah) said, "I have no knowledge of their deeds. 112 Their reckoning rests with none but my Sustainer: if you could but understand [this]! 113 I am not going to drive away any believers. 114 "I am sent only to warn plainly in public." 115 They said: If you desist not, O Nuh, you shall most certainly be of those stoned to death. 116 He prayed: "O Lord, verily my people accuse me of lies. 117 so give true deliverance between me and them, and deliver me and the believers that are with me. 118 And We saved him and those with him in the laden ship. 119 then afterwards We drowned the rest. 120 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 121 But surely your Lord is mighty and merciful. 122
