And [every time] the great ones among his people, who refused to acknowledge the truth and gave the lie to the announcement of a life to come - [simply] because We had granted them ease and plenty in [their] worldly life, and they had become corrupted by it [every time] they would say: "This [man] is nothing hut a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat, and drinking of what you drink: 33 “If you were to obey a human like yourselves, then surely you are losers!” 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead, and become dust and bones, you shall be brought forth? 35 ۞ What you are promised is indeed far-fetched. 36 There is nothing but our present life; we die, and we live, and we shall not be resurrected. 37 He is naught but a man who has forged a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe in him. 38 He said, “My Lord! Help me as they deny me.” 39 He said, 'In a little they will be remorseful.' 40 So the (Awful) Cry overtook them rightfully, and We made them like as wreckage (that a torrent hurleth). A far removal for wrongdoing folk! 41 Then We raised after them other generations. 42 No people can hasten on their doom nor can they postpone (it). 43 Then We sent Our apostles one after another; whenever there came to a people their apostle, they called him a liar, so We made some of them follow others and We made them stories; so away with a people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear proofs 45 To Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs, but they behaved insolently and they were people self-exalting (by disobeying their Lord, and exalting themselves over and above the Messenger of Allah). 46 So they said: shall we believe in two human beings like unto us, while their nation are to us slaves? 47 So they denied them – therefore became of those who were destroyed. 48 And assuredly We vouchsafed unto Musa the Book, that haply they may be guided. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Mary) and his mother as a sign, And We gave them refuge on high ground, a place of rest, security and flowing streams. 50
