The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
