In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Most Merciful 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 Created man, 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
