By no means! By the moon, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 A warning to mortals, 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 Of evil-doers: 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 we fed not the needy, 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until death approached us". 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
