Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
HaMeem. 1 I call to witness the lucent Book, 2 Surely We have made it an Arabic Quran that you may understand. 3 Indeed it is transcribed in the Original Book with Us; sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you because you are a sinful nation? 5 How many a Prophet did We send to the ancients, 6 And never came there a prophet to them but they mocked him. 7 We utterly destroyed them although they were greater in might than these. The examples of ancient peoples have gone before. 8 If you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?", they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All Knowing One has created them." 9 He who made the earth a bed for you, and laid out tracks upon it so that you may find the way; 10 And Who sent down water from the sky with a proper measure, so We revived a dead city with it; this is how you will be taken out. 11 And Who has created all the pairs and has appointed for you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 In order that you may mount firmly on their backs, and then may remember the Favour of your Lord when you mount thereon, and say: "Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts)." 13 And verily unto our Lord we are to return. 14 Yet they make some of His servants partners in His divinity. Man is clearly ungrateful! 15
