And heaven – We made it with Our Own Power and We have the Power to do so. 47 And the earth! We have stretched it forth beneath; an excellent Spreader are We! 48 And of everything We have created pairs that you may be mindful. 49 And so, [O Muhammad, say unto them:] "Flee unto God [from all that is false and evil]! Verily, I am a plain warner to you from Him! 50 Do not set up another god with God. I give you a clear warning from Him. 51 Similarly, no Messenger came to those before them but they said: 'Sorcerer, or mad' 52 Have they, perchance, handed down this [way of thinking] as a legacy unto one another? Nay, they are people filled with overweening arrogance! 53 So turn away thou from them, not thou art blameworthy. 54 Do, however, keep exhorting them; for exhortation benefits those endowed with faith. 55 I created the jinn and mankind only so that they might worship Me: 56 I do not expect to receive any sustenance from them or that they should feed Me. 57 God is certainly the great provider, Lord of strength and power. 58 The wrongdoers will meet the same fate as their predecessors, let them not ask Me to hasten on [the punishment], 59 Alas the woe for those who refuse to believe in the Day which has been promised them. 60
