The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We will now call the guards! 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
