And the dwellers of the Rock certainly rejected the apostles; 80 And though We had given them Our signs they turned away from them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 We have not created but with reason the heavens and the earth and all that lies within them. The Hour (of the great change) is certain to come. So turn away (from them) with a grace. 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And say: 'I am the plain warner' 89 (Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts),- 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 Therefore, by your Lord, We shall question every one of them. 92 For all that they used to do. 93 Promulgate thou that which thou art commanded, and turn away from the associaters. 94 We will, surely, suffice you against those who mock, 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 And surely We know that your breast straitens at what they say; 97 Therefore celebrate the praise of your Lord, and be of those who make obeisance. 98 And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death). 99
