And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them without purpose! That is the consideration of those who disbelieve! Then woe to those who disbelieve (in Islamic Monotheism) from the Fire! 27 Shall We then treat alike those that believe and act righteously and those that create mischief on earth? Or treat alike the God-fearing and the wicked? 28 This is a Book We have sent down unto thee, blest, that they may ponder the revelations thereof, and that there may be admonished men of understanding. 29 We granted Solomon to David, a blessed servant of Ours and certainly the most repentant person. 30 When fast footed steeds were presented to him at evening. 31 Therefore Sulaiman said, “I cherish the love of these horses*, out of remembrance of my Lord”; he then ordered them to be raced until they vanished in a curtain out of sight. (To be used in holy war.) 32 Bring them back to me' And he hacked their legs and necks (slaughtering them for Allah). 33 We tested Solomon by (causing death to his son) and leaving his body on Solomon's chair. Then he turned to Us in repentance, 34 He said, 'My Lord, forgive me, and give me a kingdom such as may not befall anyone after me; surely Thou art the All-giver.' 35 So we subjugated the wind to his service which carried his merchandise wheresoever he wished; 36 And also the Shayatin (devils) from the jinns (including) every kind of builder and diver, 37 and others that were bound with chains. 38 We said: "This is Our gift, so give or withhold as you wish without reckoning." 39 And he has a place near to Us, and a fine return. 40
