Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
