The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man. 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
