Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 Till a limit known? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 The living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
