The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was killed 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
