Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 storming tempestuously 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 for an appointed time? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
