Say, [O Muhammad], "I am only a warner, and there is not any deity except Allah, the One, the Prevailing. 65 "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving." 66 Say, “That is a great tidings.” 67 To which you pay no heed. 68 "I had no knowledge of the chiefs (angels) on high when they were disputing and discussing (about the creation of Adam). 69 “I receive only the divine revelations, that I am purely a clear Herald of Warning.” 70 When your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man from clay; 71 Then when I have formed him and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down before him prostrate. 72 So all the angels prostrated, every one, without exception. 73 Saving Iblis; he was scornful and became one of the disbelievers. 74 He said: O Iblis! What hindereth thee from falling prostrate before that which I have created with both My hands? Art thou too proud or art thou of the high exalted? 75 He said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay." 76 Said He, 'Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed. 77 and My rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 78 He said: My Lord! then respite me to the day that they are raised. 79 so He said, "You are granted respite 80 “Until the time of the known day.” 81 (Iblis) said: “By Your glory, I shall mislead them all 82 Save Thy single-minded slaves among them. 83 He (i.e. Allah) said: “This is the Truth -- and I only speak the Truth -- 84 That I shall fill Hell with thee and such of them as shall follow thee, all together. 85 Say thou: I ask of you for it no hire, nor am I of the affecters. 86 “It is not but an advice for the entire world.” 87 And most certainly you will come to know about it after a time. 88
