The dwellers in El-Hijr cried lies to the Envoys. 80 We brought them signs, but they turned away. 81 They would carve secure houses out of the mountains. 82 But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour, 83 And all that which they used to earn availed them not. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between the two in accordance with the requirements of truth and wisdom. The Hour is surely coming. So overlook [their faults] with gracious forgiveness. 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator and knows (everything). 86 And certainly We have given you seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the grand Quran. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 and say, 'Surely, I am the manifest warner.' 89 (Of a punishment) Like the one We sent down upon the dividers. 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account, 92 Of what they used to do. 93 Promulgate thou that which thou art commanded, and turn away from the associaters. 94 Surely We suffice to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 Who set up along with Allah another ilah (god), they will come to know. 96 And indeed We know that you are disheartened by their speech. 97 But hymn the praise of thy Lord, and be of those who make prostration (unto Him). 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
