The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 by the night swarming, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
