And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 and gave them signs wherein there was a manifest trial. 33 Most surely these do say: 34 There is naught but our first death and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if you speak truly!' 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
