It is He who sends down rain from the sky; from it is drink and from it is foliage in which you pasture [animals]. 10 He causes to grow for you thereby the crops, olives, palm trees, grapevines, and from all the fruits. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought. 11 And He has subjected for you the night and day and the sun and moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason. 12 All that He has created for you on the earth are of different colors. In this there is evidence of the Truth for the people who take heed. 13 And He it is who hath subjected the sea that ye may eat thereout flesh fresh and bring forth therefrom ornaments that ye wear. And thou beholdest ships ploughing therein, and it is in order that ye may seek of His grace, and that haply ye may give thanks. 14 And He placed mountains as anchors in the earth so that it may not shake along with you, and streams and roads for you to find course. 15 And also landmarks; and by the stars they are guided. 16 Is He, then, who creates like him who does not create? Will you not, then, take heed? 17 If you count the favors of Allah, you could not number them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and the Most Merciful. 18 And God knows what you keep secret and what you publish. 19 And those whom they worship other than Allah, do not create anything but are themselves created. 20 They are dead, not alive; and they do not know when will the people be raised. 21
