In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 his lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
