The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He created the human 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
