A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. 1 This is a Book revealed to you. Let there be no impediment in your heart about it. (It has been revealed to you) that you may thereby warn [the unbelievers], that it may be a reminder to the believers. 2 Follow that which is sent down toward you from your Lord, and follow not any patrons beside Him; yet little ye are admonished. 3 And many a township did We destroy – so Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon. 4 And their declaration when Our punishment came to them was only that they said, "Indeed, we were wrongdoers!" 5 Then shall we question those to whom Our message was sent and those by whom We sent it. 6 We shall recount (their deeds) to them with knowledge, for We were never absent (and saw all they did). 7 And the weighing on that Day is certain, then whosesoever balances will be heavy, those! they shall fare well. 8 and those whose scales are light will be the losers, for they, are the ones who have been unjust to Our signs. 9 We have established you in the earth and there appointed for you livelihood; little thanks you show. 10
