1/4 Hizb 17

The chiefs of Pharaoh's people said, "This is most surely a skillful magician, 109 who wants to drive you out of your land! " [Said Pharaoh:] "What, then, do you advise?" 110 Others said: 'Put them off a while, he and his brother, and send forth to your cities gatherers 111 who should bring to you every skillful magician." 112 And the magicians came to Pharaoh and said: 'Shall we have a reward if we win?' 113 Answered [Pharaoh]: "Yes; and verily, you shall be among those who are near unto me." 114 They said, “O Moosa! You may throw first or shall we be the first to throw?” 115 He said, "Throw," and when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people and struck terror into them, and they presented a great [feat of] magic. 116 Then We revealed to Moses: 'Now, throw down your staff' And thereupon it swallowed up their false invention. 117 ۞ whereupon the truth was established, and vain was proved all that they had been doing. 118 Pharaoh and his men were defeated and utterly humiliated. 119 And the enchanters were thrown down, prostrating (themselves). 120 Saying: "We believe in the Lord of the Worlds,- 121 The Lord of Moses and Aaron. 122 The Pharaoh said to the magicians, "You declared your belief in him (Moses) without my permission. This is a plot to throw my people out of their city. But you will soon know. 123 most certainly shall I cut off your hands and your feet in great numbers, because of [your] perverseness, and then I shall most certainly crucify you, in great numbers, all together!" 124 They answered: "Verily, unto our Sustainer do we turn 125 Thou takest vengeance upon us only because we have believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us. Our Lord, pour out upon us patience, and gather us unto Thee surrendering.' 126

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
