The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ They will question thee concerning the spoils. Say: 'The spoils belong to God and the Messenger; so fear you God, and set things right between you, and obey you God and His Messenger, if you are believers.' 1 true believers are those whose hearts tremble with awe at the mention of God, and whose faith grows stronger as they listen to His revelations. They are those who put their trust in their Lord, 2 Who perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and spend out of that We have provided them. 3 it is they, they who are truly believers! Theirs shall be great dignity in their Sustainer's sight, and forgiveness of sins, and a most excellent sustenance. 4 As your Lord sent you from your home (to fight) for the true cause, a section of the faithful were averse, 5 They disputed with you about the truth after that had become evident, as if they were being driven to death with their eyes wide open. 6 And when Allah promised you one of the two parties that it shall be yours and you loved that the one not armed should he yours and Allah desired to manifest the truth of what was true by His words and to cut off the root of the unbelievers. 7 That He should establish the truth and abolish falsehood, even if the criminals disliked it. 8 When you (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) were seeking the help of your Lord, so He answered your prayers that, “I will help you with a row of thousands of angels.” 9 Allah meant this as glad tidings and that your hearts may be set at rest. For every help comes from Allah alone. Surely Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. 10
