The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
AlifLaamMeem. 1 This is the exalted Book (the Qur’an), in which there is no place for doubt; a guidance for the pious. 2 Those who believe in the unseen and keep up prayer and spend out of what We have given them. 3 And who believe in the Revelation sent to thee, and sent before thy time, and (in their hearts) have the assurance of the Hereafter. 4 These depend on guidance from their Lord. These are the successful. 5 Verily, those who disbelieve, it is the same to them whether you (O Muhammad Peace be upon him) warn them or do not warn them, they will not believe. 6 God has sealed their hearts and their ears, and over their eyes there is a covering. They will have a terrible punishment. 7
