In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ A. L. R. These are the Ayats of Revelation,- of a Qur'an that makes things clear. 1 The unbelievers would haply like to wish that they had submitted (and become Muslim). 2 Leave them to eat and enjoy, and for aspiration to involve them in play – so they will shortly come to know. 3 Never a city have We destroyed, but it had a known decree, 4 Every nation can only live for the time appointed for it. 5 And they say, "O you upon whom the message has been sent down, indeed you are mad. 6 Why do you not bring down angels upon us if you are indeed truthful?" 7 We send not down the angels, save with truth; 8 Lo! We, even We, reveal the Reminder, and lo! We verily are its Guardian. 9 And certainly We sent (apostles) before you among the nations of yore. 10 and never yet came an apostle to them without their deriding him. 11 Even so do we let it creep into the hearts of the sinners - 12 So, they will not believe in it: The example of former people is there. 13 If We opened a gate in the heaven and they kept ascending through it, 14 They would only say: "Our eyes have been intoxicated: Nay, we have been bewitched by sorcery." 15

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
