We created mankind from clay, molded from mud, 26 And the jinn We created before, of intensely hot fire. 27 And when your Lord said to the angels: Surely I am going to create a mortal of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 28 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him. 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 But Satan did not; he refused to join those who prostrated themselves. 31 He said: O Iblis! what excuse have you that you are not with those who make obeisance? 32 He said it was not for me that I should prostrate myself unto a human being whom Thou hast created from ringing clay of loam moulded. 33 (Allah) said: 'Begone, you are accursed! 34 and [My] rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 35 He said, “My Lord! Grant me respite till the day when they will all be raised.” 36 (Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee 37 till the appointed time. 38 He said, “My Lord! I swear by the fact that You sent me astray, I shall distract them in the earth, and I shall lead all of them astray.” 39 Save such of them as are Thy perfectly devoted slaves. 40 (Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me. 41 No power shall you have over (all) My creatures except those who fall into error and follow you, 42 And indeed hell is the promise for all of them. 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44
