We have created the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay 26 while We had brought the jinn into being before out of blazing fire. 27 And lo! Thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create mortal man out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted; 28 When it is properly shaped and I have blown My Spirit into it, you should then bow down in prostration". 29 So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely, 30 except iblis (father of the jinn) who refused to be one of those who prostrated themselves. 31 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What happened to you that you stayed apart from those who prostrated?” 32 He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud." 33 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected, accursed. 34 "And the curse shall be on thee till the day of Judgment." 35 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." 36 He answered: 'You are among those reprieved 37 Until the Day of the time well-known." 38 Iblis said: "My Lord! In the manner You led me to error, I will make things on earth seem attractive to them and lead all of them to error, 39 Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones. 40 Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me. 41 over My servants thou shalt have no authority, except those that follow thee, 42 and for all such, behold, hell is the promised goal. 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44
