We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape; 26 And the jinn We created before from scorching fire. 27 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to bring into being a man wrought from mud. 28 And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My spirit, bow before him in homage;" 29 So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely, 30 Save Iblis. He refused to be among the prostrate. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud." 33 God told him, "Get out of the garden; you are rejected 34 Upon thee shall rest the curse, till the Day of Doom.' 35 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 36 Allah said: verily then thou art of the respited: 37 Until the Day of the time well-known." 38 Said he, 'My Lord, for Thy perverting me I shall deck all fair to them in the earth, and I shall pervert them, all together, 39 except for Your chosen servants." 40 (To which God) said: "This way is right by Me. 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 And verily Hell is the place promised unto them all. 43 it has seven gates: and each gate has a portion of them allotted to it. 44
