Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
We created man out of dry clay, from moulded mud, 26 And the jinn, We had created them afore of the fire of the scroching wind. 27 But when your Lord said to the angels: "I am verily going to create a human being from fermented clay dried tingling hard; 28 "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him." 29 So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 Save Iblis. He refused to be among the prostrate. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 He answered, “It does not befit me to prostrate myself to a human whom You have created from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 33 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state]: for, behold, thou art [henceforth] accursed, 34 and will be subjected to condemnation until the Day of Judgment." 35 He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. 36 Allah said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved, 37 "Till the Day of the time appointed." 38 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all. 39 But not such of them as are Thy bondmen single-hearted. 40 Said He: "This is, with Me, a straight way: 41 Lo! as for My slaves, thou hast no power over any of them save such of the froward as follow thee, 42 Surely Hell is the promised place for all of them." 43 It has seven gates; for every gate there shall be a separate party of them. 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
